Genesis 8:20–22; Genesis 22:15–18; 1 Kings 3:3–13; 2 Corinthians 8:12
God is interested in every area of our lives, including our finances. We know this by Revelation 5:12However, kingdom giving is not merely about putting money into an offering basket
1. OUR SEED IS A SPIRITUAL TRANSACTION
A seed may look small in your hand, but it carries the potential for a harvest.
Our giving can become an expression of:
• Faith in God
• Love for God
• Obedience to God's Word
• Gratitude
• Partnership with God's kingdom
• Compassion toward others
2. GOD LOOKS AT THE HEART BEHIND THE SEED
Not every seed is sown in the same condition of heart.
2 Corinthians 8:12
“For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.”
3. WE MUST SOW WILLINGLY
Exodus 35 gives us a beautiful picture of people bringing offerings for the work of God's house.
True kingdom giving comes from a willing heart.
4. KINGDOM SEED REQUIRES FAITH
One of the greatest examples of sacrificial giving is found in the story of Abraham.
Genesis 22
God instructed Abraham to offer Isaac.
5. KINGDOM SEED MUST HAVE A KINGDOM PURPOSE
Giving should not be separated from the purposes of God.
Jesus taught us in Matthew 6:33:
6. GOD CAN USE OUR SEED TO OPEN DOORS
Consider Solomon in 1 Kings 3.
Solomon loved the Lord and offered sacrifices to Him.
7. THE GREATEST RETURN IS GOD'S PURPOSE FULFILLED
We should be careful not to turn kingdom giving into a mechanical formula:
8. GOD WANTS US TO BECOME FAITHFUL STEWARDS
The fundamental question of kingdom wealth is not:
“How much money do I have?”
It is:
“Can God trust me with what He has placed in my hands?”
